"The roaring twenties" was a decade of prosperity for the USA. It took place after the World War I. Nowadays, they are showing a movie called "The Great Gatsby". I'm going to see the new version today but you must have seen the old one (1971) with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford. I saw it last weekend and it was just wonderful! Anyway, if you are interested in US history, you will find this useful!
